I wrote this poem on Christmas Eve 1984, I had just turned 17. Whereas Time (1983) was written in a sombre, reflective mood, this poem expresses gratitude and hope. Merry X-Mas and Happy Holidays to all – may your life be filled with love, light and laughter.

Thank you

For this wonderful

Christmas gift –

For spending this day

With me, in your spirit –

For giving me your soul

Even if for a few hours.

Vanita Shukla Hork, 1984
