The Four Seasons is the very first poem I wrote, in 1981 at age 13. It is divided into 4 parts, this is the third part called Spring. The poem is very simple and innocent, even as the poetess was at the time. Read also the other parts of the poem – Summer, Autumn and Winter.
Spring
After months of sleep
Nature is waking again
The first, solitary flower
Awaits her friends.
The birds have come back
I feel
As though life itself
Has sprung up again.
Sunshine, although mild
Shows its smiling face
Through the trees
Which are getting full.
Everyone
Is trying to catch the sunshine
In their lives –
Like me.
