During the ’80s, I not only wrote poems, but also noted down many random thoughts, which captured my mood at that moment.
I have enjoyed revisiting these thoughts of a young girl several decades down the line, and I believe they will resonate with other people, as well.
I would like to share some of them here with you for reflection and, hopefully, inspiration.
If you enjoy my thoughts and poems, I invite you to visit my Author Profile and check out my books on Amazon, Goodreads and BookBub.
If you gaze into the eyes
Of the one you loved
And fail to see an answering glow
Remember
It was never meant to be –
He chose to let you go.

A poem in blue
And a withered bouquet of memories
Such are the treasures
Of the poetess in love.
Poor creature!
No fragrance left
Yet she holds each flower tenderly.

An actress waiting for
The curtain call
And standing ovation
From Life.

That is really tragic
Is fighting the tears

When I am sad, the woman in me cries tears, but the poetess cries ink. My two different identities merge into one and create a rhapsody of grief.

The sharp angle of your chin in the soft curve of my neck – I call it perfect harmony.

You strip off the clothes of your reality and stand naked in the mirror of your soul. And you see hurt, pain and impending defeat. And it’s to fight this hurt, this pain, this defeat that you fight so hard.

Blow, Nordic winds, blow strong
And cold into my life
Blow and carry me home
Where the monsoons fall
And the earth smells fresh –
Where the sun burns bright
And the people are mine.

Follow your inner voice, for that is all you have. Once your inner voice tells you to change your course, do so. Never work against yourself.

When your quiet, steady eyes
Look into mine,
I feel
Most unsteady.

The only place where one may find true love, happiness and peace is within one’s own heart. But that, perhaps, is the hardest destination of all to reach.
