Sunrise is one of my newer poems, from 2024. It is a gentle poem, expressing hope and optimism for the future. Compare this poem to She Awaits the Sunrise (1985) – two poems almost 40 years and a lifetime apart.

Open your eyes

And let me see in them

The sunrise.

I have waited for this moment

For dawn –

The dawn of time

The dawn of our lives.

Let our souls

Shine like stars

Let us shed

Our mortal scars.

Pale morning sky

Gentle hues

The sun still shy –

A new day has begun.

A new day.

A new life.

A good one. Sending love. And this:
    Blessings be with you
    stay calm, stay true.
    Navigating another’s maze
    in the bright haze
    of a new dawn
    can trigger scars, monsters born
out of old pain ‘s craze.
    Be patient, be kind,
we all have those rifts in soul and mind.
    Blessings be with you two.

Loved it Vanita – as though there has been an
awakening – outlook restructuring – seeing the
world 🌎 from a different perspective – finding a vision and positive message ( where once there was void ) shedding the negativity – like a zebra shimmer
