In the light of the dying sun
I find my faith.
In your sad smile
I see a thousand suns
Going to sleep.
In this darkening hour
I seek compassion.
I see the goodness
Of the Universe
In the kindness of strangers.
I seek solace
In the stillness around me.
In this silent moment
I feel the peace of solitude.
In the darkness
I am not alone.
I feel the soft wings of an angel
Against my cheek.
In my earthly weakness
My spirit rises.
As I embrace acceptance
I feel my wings.
I am ready.
I am at peace.

A beautiful tribute Vanita.
Thank you so much, Rix 🙏
A deep and moving tribute. 🙏
Thank you so much, John 🙏
I remember when I read the poem the first time, Vanita, and asked if it was your perspective or Kusum’s.
It reflects her acceptance of what was to come, and she had made her peace with the final curtain call.
I agree with you, Vatsala. I felt as if I was actually looking through her eyes when I wrote this poem 🙏
