I wrote this poem in 1985, 17 years old. This was a very spiritual phase in my life; I was inspired by the Christian and Hindu faiths on death and resurrection. Compare this poem to The Saviour (1983), offering redemption.
This poem, written at age 15, mourns the loss of childhood. It was one of my late father, Ramesh Chandra Shukla’s favourite poems. The painting is by my mother, the artist Kusum Shukla. Compare this poem to The Hour of
